Supporting Flood-Affected Communities Through Compassionate Care
Natural disasters can leave devastating impacts on communities, affecting not only homes and livelihoods but also access to healthcare and essential services. Following the severe flooding in Buner, many families were left vulnerable and in urgent need of medical support. In response to this humanitarian need, Kulsum Healthcare Foundation organized a free medical health camp to provide timely healthcare assistance to flood-affected families and underserved populations in the region.
The initiative was part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to extending healthcare services beyond hospitals and directly into communities where care is needed most.
The camp focused on delivering immediate medical treatment, preventive healthcare, and health awareness to individuals facing difficult living conditions after the disaster. Throughout the outreach program, 350 patients received free medical consultations from qualified healthcare professionals who carefully assessed each patient’s condition and provided proper medical guidance.
Basic health screenings, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, were also carried out to support early diagnosis and identify patients requiring additional medical attention. Such screenings are particularly important during disaster situations where health risks can increase significantly due to environmental conditions and lack of healthcare access.
To ensure immediate relief, essential medicines were distributed free of cost to patients requiring treatment. Individuals diagnosed with chronic illnesses or high-risk conditions were referred to appropriate healthcare facilities for continued treatment and specialized follow-up care.
The entire medical outreach was conducted under strict infection prevention and patient safety protocols, ensuring that all services were delivered in a safe and organized environment.
The local community expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, recognizing it as a source of support and relief during a difficult period. More than just a healthcare activity, the camp represented compassion, solidarity, and hope for families struggling to recover from the impact of flooding.
Kulsum Healthcare Foundation remains dedicated to strengthening community healthcare systems and ensuring that vulnerable populations receive timely, quality, and compassionate medical care.
